I use a laptop for 3 or 4 years. A fairly standard one, with a 15.4-inch screen, 1280 x 800 px resolution, decent hardware, no exceptional battery, etc. It was an Asus and I was quite pleased with it … addition to the weight. The bloody laptop, along with the charger, mouse and other small items made my bag weighs around 10 kilograms. I hated that I hated to the point, I turned my laptop into a desktop replacement: How did not I look from my deskMonths.
So I've finally bought this year a desktop PC, with a large display and all necessary accessories. But I also needed a mobile computer, that could meet the following requirements:
Strong enough to all the applications I needed to, like Dreamweaver running Photoshop and maybe some older games from time to time as FIFA or Need for Speed
Compact and light enough so I can easily to him
Not too small, so I really could use it for a longerTime (I hate small screens with low resolution and tiny keyboards)
With a good battery life, somewhere around 5 to 6 hours
Good connection, preferably with 3G
Not so expensive, I can not afford to pay $ 2,000 for a laptop
With all this in front of my eyes, I began surfing the Web for options. I have to quickly find there are many, many types of notebook s on the market right now, from the small and compact devices called netbooks to the big, bulky and expensive gaming laptops.Still, I quickly narrowed my search to 13.3 or 14-inch mini-notebook laptops. Because these seem the only ones who fit all the requirements could be over.
But the search was not over yet: I had a definite model that could get in my budget and have as many functions as possible. I saw some HP devices, some interesting Dells and Lenovo Thinkpads. But in the ended I turned my attention to two 13.3-inch devices by experts and buyers also looked at some of the bestMini-notebooks in this hour: the Asus and the Acer Aspire UL30A 3810T.
Both devices run around 700-800 dollars, offer dual-core processor, lots of RAM and enough memory. Both come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Both offer a battery life of about 6-7 hours. You see, more or less the same, but the Acer is cheaper although similar specs on the Asus is even more attractive in terms of appearance, at least for me. Also like to encourage the Asus name me more confidence than Acer. And last but notat least, the Asus comes with an integrated 3G module, which really handy would be when traveling.
So I think this will be my next Asus UL30A portable PC. Or maybe I should choose to wear something even smaller and lighter? Hmmm … maybe I'm still a little undecided on the model, but I'm pretty sure I want a portable mini-notebook for my next techy travel companion.
